Our Heritage

George N. Talhami & Sons Co. — a legacy of Oriental artistry since 1920. Heritage in every piece.

From Ramleh to Bethlehem, 1920–1950

The origins of George N. Talhami & Sons trace back to the early 20th century, when the Talhami family began trading handcrafted souvenirs in Ramleh, Palestine — serving visitors and British officers stationed at the nearby Sarafand military camp.

The company was formally established in 1950 by George Nicola Talhami, transforming a modest family enterprise into a distinguished name in Oriental arts and antiques. Rooted in Bethlehem's rich artisanal traditions, the Talhami legacy has long been dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Levant.

The Intercontinental Years, 1963–2022

For nearly six decades, our headquarters was a landmark within the Jordan Intercontinental Hotel in Amman. The location became a cultural destination for international travelers, diplomats, and collectors seeking authentic craftsmanship from Jordan and Palestine — an era marked by prestige, trust, and global recognition.

Today, while our physical doors at the hotel have closed, Talhami Store continues this 70-year tradition online, offering the same world-class collection to a global audience.
